Lots of fun and scary foods were experienced at the Oct. 2009 potluck meeting.  Scary-faced pizza, brain-y jello, buggy hummus dip and spidery fruit salad.

Our group has been busy this past month.  Charles J. Troutman won the Thirsty Diaper drawing and we hope he is enjoying the diapers.  The last meeting was a hit with all the “Scary Food”.  Several new committees were formed and plans are being made for lots of future programs and classes.  Many of our members have also been attending the “Green Drinks” meetings and are learning more about local recycling.

The oil distribution last month went very smoothly and hopefully everyone is happy with their order.  We still have Costco and Sam’s order forms if anyone is interested in ordering in advance.  The Co-op also has some sugar for sale –Organic evaporated cane juice, Fair Trade Certified, No Pesticides, no herbicides, no chemicals, not bleached—10 lb. bags for $10.  We have 3 bags and they will be available at the next meeting.

Mother Nature’s in Canon City has Fresh, free-range, local turkeys available for Thanksgiving (must be ordered by Nov 19th)–$2.99/lb.  Vitamin Cottage in Pueblo also has various free-range, organic, heritage turkeys available for order from $1.99/lb. to $5.49/lb.

Some of our members will be vendors at the Business & Holiday Gift Expo this Saturday at the Abbey Field House.  Please try and attend between 9 am and 5 pm.  Come meet the local business owners and support your local economy—and get some holiday shopping done while you are at it!
