The next meeting of the Canon Co-op will be this coming Sunday, November 15th at 4 pm.  We will be meeting in the Thirsties meeting room again (429 S. 9th).  Harriet Balhiser will be giving a program on Veganism and a demonstration on how to make tofurky (with samples); the Pot-Luck Theme will be “Vegan,” to acknowledge the ill-treatment of animals in mass facilities as depicted in the movie Fresh.  Please try and attend—everyone is welcome!

HAPPY FALL (WINTER??)!!

The next meeting of the Canon Co-op will be at 4 pm on Sunday, October 18th.  The meeting will be held at our new permanent meeting place at 429 S. 9th St.  There is a parking lot directly north of the building and the entrance is from that side.  There will be a program by Dean Brady on caring for trees in the fall.  The theme for the potluck is “Scary Food”—is that scary to look at or scary to make??

The summer activities of the Co-op were very profitable and educational.  We were out at the Harvest Fest and lots more people in the area know we exist now.  We surprised a lot of people, most of all ourselves, when we made it through the entire Farmer’s Market.   The Co-op ordered 40 gallons of olive oil and most has been delivered by now.  We still have some gallons available for sale for $25/gallon for members.  Email us if you are interested.  We were able to distribute 500 lbs. of Yukon Gold potatoes and about 500 lbs. of peaches, too.  We shared some delicious beef this year and are currently talking about getting some pork.  Anyone with any of these desires or any others, please let us know so we can coordinate a group purchase.

Marshall Hopkins has more potatoes if anyone is interested.  50 lb bags of Yukon Gold for $12 (he only has 5 bags) and 100 lb bags of small potatoes for $20.  He is in Canon tonight and tomorrow.  Call him if you are interested 620-272-4825.
